Dr. Aalepey Lakshmi Vinayak (M.A, M.Phil.) is an A-graded Carnatic vocal artiste of All India Radio and a senior disciple of Late Thiruvengadu Sri. A. Jayaraman.

Dr. Lakshmi Vinayak has been performing worldwide for about 22 years and has been teaching Carnatic music for the past 20 years. She specialises in preparing students for Arangetram and other performances. Additionally, she trains them in voice culture. She also dons other roles such as composing orchestral pieces and music for dance performances.

Dr. Lakshmi Vinayak won the Vocal Artist Endowment Award in 2009 (Krishna Gana Sabha) and the Best Kural Isai Kalaignal Title (Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram) in 2002.

Since 1999, she learnt Carnatic music from Guru Tiruvenkadu Jayaraman for 6.5 years. She then graduated with B.A. (Music) and M.A. (Music) from Madras University. After that, Dr. Lakshmi Vinayak completed her Master of Philosophy (Music) from Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal.

Subsequently, she went to Singapore to work as a music teacher at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society. For more than four years, she taught music to children belonging to various cultural backgrounds living there.
